Aluminum frames are characterized by narrow profiles and durability, making them ideal for those who want to frame a large-format painting in a narrow frame. Aluminum frames look minimalist, modern, and at the same time elegant. For those seeking embellishment, we offer gold-colored metal frames, while for those preferring more classic styles, black or wood veneer-covered metal frames that look like very narrow wooden frames but are more durable. Framing in an aluminum frame will be more expensive than framing in a plastic frame, but aluminum frames are very long-lasting, allowing the artwork to be passed down from generation to generation. Please note that only paper-printed or drawn artworks can be framed in aluminum frames, as canvases with stretchers simply won't fit. Also, keep in mind that when framing paper artworks, a backing, glass, and preferably a mat are required. A mat is not only useful as it creates a space between the artwork and the glass, but it also complements the artwork. The mat gives the artwork a sense of space, and for smaller works - even volume. All mats offered in Remai.lt salons in Vilnius and Kaunas are acid-free and do not harm the artworks. Remai.lt offers a choice of three types of glass. We can insert regular glass, which minimally increases the framing cost, or anti-reflective glass, which shows fewer reflections, with a price difference not much from regular glass. We also offer the highest quality museum glass, which is expensive but worth its price - this glass is almost invisible even from a short distance, and it does not create reflections.
