What is Giclée?

Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay" [ˈʒiːkleɪ]) printing is an inkjet printing method on canvas, paper, or photo paper that can achieve the highest possible quality. This method is used to print high-resolution graphic works, reproductions of artworks, professional photographs, and other works that require only the best quality. Reproductions printed this way look like the original, with visible brush strokes on the surface that one wants to touch with their fingers. Works printed on a Giclée printer are long-lasting and excellent for archiving. The ink colors are environmentally friendly, and if properly cared for, the prints can remain unchanged for many years.

What is a reproduction?

A reproduction is a copy of an artwork recreated through printing. We print with a CANON© PRO printer - this is the highest quality pigment printing available, significantly better than solvent printing. We use original and natural Canon canvas designed for artworks, which is stretched over a wooden frame made in Lithuania. Authors are paid royalties for each reproduction made from their works.

What is pigment printing?

Canvas is most commonly printed in two ways - solvent and pigment. They differ greatly. Firstly - in quality and color brightness. Solvent printing is more intended for producing banners and advertisements, and hanging cheaply printed photo works at home can even be harmful to health, as solvent-type inks gradually release toxic substances. The pigment printing and varnish we use are water-based and do not harm the printer, the environment, or the client. Properly prepared, this printing is durable and does not fade, remaining unchanged for many years - such reproductions are suitable for archiving.

How to order a canvas print?

1. Choose a frame on which we will wrap your canvas.

2. Enter the required size (maximum print width - 1 meter) and select the option "Pigment Giclée print on canvas".
If the canvas needs a hanger, choose the type of hanger. Also, if you want the canvas framed - add an additional frame.

3. Create the order.

4. Send us the file for printing (this can be done via www.wetransfer.com). The layout must be prepared at 300 dpi resolution (the minimum resolution is 150 dpi) with 5 cm margins.
