PUZZLE FRAMING
We often frame puzzles, so we have gathered all the information on how to glue it before framing here.
So, after spending many hours on a huge puzzle, you finally completed it and are wondering what to do next - dismantle it (after all, so much work has been put in!), or somehow hang it on the wall.
We have good news - securing a puzzle is much simpler than it seems. We know this well because at remai.lt office, there hangs... the legendary Ravensburger 32 thousand piece puzzle featuring the famous American artist Keith Haring's paintings (which, by the way, is currently the largest in the world), which we put together over good four months at night.
But now, not about that. To glue the mosaic (puzzle), you will need:
1. Puzzle
2. Clean cardboard or paper (to place under the puzzle)
3. Special glues (you can buy them at various hobby stores, we used Puzzle Conserver)
4. An hour of time
First, you need to assemble the entire mosaic - if you have multiple pieces, they must be connected, as gluing beforehand may cause problems in joining the pieces later.
To protect the working environment, move the puzzle onto cardboard or clean paper.
Clean the puzzle from dust and other dirt - the surface must be perfectly smooth and clean.
With the special glue, carefully cover the entire front side of the puzzle (at least the ones we use are applied from the top, but we recommend reading the instructions) - there should be enough to fill the gaps between the pieces. This glue is special in that it fills the gaps but does not leave stains and does not change the colors of the puzzle.
Wait an hour and, if necessary, repeat the glue application until the puzzle is firmly glued.
After completing this, the puzzle will already be unified and will not fall apart, as the glue fills all the gaps, but it will still be quite fragile, especially if it is large. If you want, you can simply glue it or hang it on the wall, but if you like the image and do not want to damage the wall, we recommend framing the puzzle.
